The LD2018 Launch And Recovery System (LARS) is a fully-integrated field-proven Work Class LARS for mobile or fixed installation use. The LARS is a Lay-Flat design, with 135° luffing angle to reduce free height of the ROV above water, during both deployment and recovery. The A-Frame has a telescopic boom, which improves parking of the ROV and the TMS behind each other, luffing and outboard mechanical stop.
The addition of the cranked boom gives additional reach and brings the initial package closer to the splash zone during both launch & recovery.
The LARS comprises of a winch, hydraulic power unit, telescopic A-frame, skid, snubber and belly-band remote control. It can handle a variety of ROV, TMS and Tool Skid combinations.
